Welcome to UK Horse Racing

Introduction

Our main product are our exceptional ratings which we believe are amongst the best available anywhere on the internet. Our subscribers certainly think so!

UK Horse Racing is a racing advisory service which offers an unique outlook to racing.

Our methods are based upon advanced pure mathematics but we present the information in a simple way; either in the ratings or in the system selections.

The UK Horse Racing site has been growing in popularity for a number of reasons; there's a friendly discussion community on our forum and also those whom handicap for themselves appreciate our rather unique ratings as a good source of information.

800/1 Winner

Quite a few people were on Lights Of Broadway in the Hereford 1.40 (9th Jan 2012) as it was indicated in our Trainer Form figures and also had a massive Cls underscore value.

I have received a couple of eMails from members saying that they were on it three times. Even at the minimum stake of £2 that was a massive return with three points on it.

Reading the Ratings

A new project is underway which is designed to help those new to UK Horse Racing to uderstand how to read the ratings.

This an ongoing project and bits will be added to it continuously.

Keep and eye on this page and if you have any comments or contributions then please do send them.

UKHR News

29th January 2012.
A new version of the Data Analyst Tool has been posted.

11th January 2012.
A new Lab Note looking at selections which contain three ranked figures within Great Britain has been posted. The return of this looks to be excellent and a new selection page will be made shortly. This has to be one to follow.

9th January 2012.
Anyone following Cls Underscored horses or any of our Trainer Form figures will have been on Lights of Broadway in the Hereford 1.40 which won at 200/1 at SP and 800/1 on Betfair. eMails have been received from members who said that they were on Lights of Broadway three times!

18th December 2011.
As a part of the Reading The Ratings explanations and tutorials it's been decided to have a Case Study on a selected race regularly which goes through the ratings and discusses how a selection could be made from the ratings. Today we start off with a very tricky handicap in the 2.10 at Kempton Park. Of course we can't expect to get every winner but over time we should be able to pinpoint a number of good selections as well as teach how to use the ratings.

17th December 2011.
We revisited the Zorba-1 Lab Note to tighten the criteria to look at the underscored RAdj field rather than the Ranked RAdj and also limited the results to the top three in the ratings. The difference is astounding and those following the Reading The Ratings may well appreciate the difference the top-three criteria makes.

9th December 2011.
A Lab Note looking at the Hot List Alarms has been posted on the site. There are some excellent indicators in there, particularly with the 'p' Alarm.

6th December 2011.
The latest UK Horse Racing Newsletter has been released.

5th December 2011.
For the Winter of 2011-12 an All Weather Stalls Bias Report has been released. This is a sterling peice of work by MarkPor and makes for interesting reading for the coming winter racing on the all-weather.

5th December 2011.
A new Lab Note for the UKHR-1 (GB only) selections has been released. Some very interesting angles in there, especially for the UKHR-1 Selections in the better class Chase races.

1st December 2011.
Top Rated Winner at 123/1 ! The Top Rated horse in the 6.30 Wolverhampton, No Mean Trick, wins the five furlong handicap at 66/1 SP and at 123/1 on Betfair. This horse was flagged in our Top Rated Value Selections At Course.

1st December 2011.
A new version (v1.34) of the Bot Logging Software has been released. This is a major upgrade of the spreadsheet and the bot users should use this version.

24th November 2011.
A new version of the UKHR Data Analyst Tool has just been released. This is a very powerful tool which goes through many years of our data looking for excellent angles. It takes a small amount of VBA programming knowledge to run but there is nothing here which anyone with rudimentary computing skills can learn in an afternoon.

17th November 2011.
A small update to the Bot Logging spreadsheet has been released. This version fixes a fix in the previous version which prevented new users from running it.

14th November 2011.
A new Lab Note (number 75) has been released. This looks at some of the leading trainers' results when their horses are within the top three of the ratings. Is there a connection? Yes, and it's a good one. One to follow for sure.

4th November 2011.
The CSV files with October's results are available from our Archive Secrion.

3rd November 2011.
A new page, Bot Logs, has been launched. Here one will find our recent log files (Excel format) as well as a collection of graphs of each of the portfolios used.

2nd November 2011.
A new version (v1.32) of the Bot Logging Software has been released which sorts out a few bugs with the Porfolio Graphs being generated. Additionally, two more graphs series have been added.

23rd October 2011.
Our personal log files can be downloaded from here: Log File 23rd October 2011. The systems used can be analysed within the log file and if anyone wishes to look at the rules of any of the systems then the information can be found here.

Bot users will be able to download the xml files that I am using and, if so desired, change any of the criteria.

How Good Are The UK Horse Racing Ratings?

The best way to see how good any set of ratings are would be to see how the top rated horse has fared.

These are the top rated runners (from 2005) running within Great Britain and available over our minimum, or value price.

Runs27,344
Wins4,092
Profit1,233
Strike Rate14.46%
Return4.4%

All prices are BF SP, where appropriate, and include paying Betfair's 5% commission charge. These figures are taken from the period January 2005 until March 2011.

The minimum price which has to be obtained is what we call our value price. That is the price which we calculate, and put into our ratings, that the horse's fair chance of success is.

It has to be noted that for every single year from 2005 to 2010 each and every year was a winning year.
