Alarms, 2008-2009

Introduction

This lab report contains all the horses from 2008 and 2009 which ran with some form of alarm, both positive and negative. Again rather than a lab note with the data displayed this note takes the form of two file downloads because of the volume of data.

This lab note, again producted by Holmes, is a continuation of the data within Lab Note 57 but, this time, one is able to dig around in here and find something which would be suited to one's own strategies.

The first file is for those with Excel 2007. The second is the same data but in a large CSV file which can be read by any spreadsheet or application.

All prices are to the real recorded BFSP wherever possible. And the return column (for the spreadsheet alone) takes into consideration the Betfair commission charge.

Update 15th April 2010

Bayesian, one of our members, has come up trumps with an amazing spreadsheet. This Excel 2007 format spreadsheet takes our comparatively pitiful spreadsheet one step further so that one can find combinations of underscores and alarms every so easily. There is a lot of computing power required to run this beast so the queries take a second or two - but it's more than worth the wait.

If there is an essential download from this site then this could well be it.

Apart from the way that this spreadsheet has been put together, Bayesian has removed all the 100/1, and above, winners so as not to skew the data. Of course, there is nothing to say that these outsiders won't be caught again...
