UK Horse Racing Newsletter

Number 12

12th January, 2008

www.ukhorseracing.co.uk / www.weakfavourites.co.uk

Introduction

Once more there's been a lot of progress on both sites in the past few weeks; some of which is listed below. The updates have been well received and, in return, more suggestions and requests for future updates have been received.

A lot of the updates behind the scenes have been geared towards merging the two sites together. Hopefully, this will occur in the next month or two.

System Selections & XML

All of the Weak Favourites selection systems are now available in one single XML file which makes it easier for those who wish to download the XML for more than one system.

This has been received well and the same will be done shortly for the UK Horse Racing selections.

Weak Favourites Results

We have added a Largest Profit Drop facility to the Weak Favourites result reports.

We considered adding something which showed the Longest Winning and Longest Losing runs but decided that these don't show the whole picture. So we came up with the rather simple Largest Profit Drop.

What this tells you is what has been the worst drop during the system's history. This would help to tell you how big a staking bank one could need and to see how volatile the system is. For example, if a system has a Largest Profit Drop of 60 then this means that if you started at the worst possible time when the system was peaking and continued until the worst possible time your largest loss would be 60 points.

This example is of the Value For Money lays (VFM) to a maximum of 7.0 (see the results here) which shows that there is the Largest Profit drop of 58.36. If we look at the graph then we can see this drop (indicated in the box) within the context of the results.

Value For Money Lays, to a maximum of 7.0. 30/10/2006 - 30/12/2007 (4,589 selections)

Every system has its peaks and troughs and this is a true indication of what could have happened and, essentially, a fairer and more accurate reporting figure than using Longest Losing or Longest Winning Runs.

More importantly, this figure helps to put any losing day's results into perspective.

Weak Favourites Laying Portfolio

The above chart for the VFM lays is displayed on the Charts page on the Weak Favourites site along with five other laying system results.

These are realistic results of some of the laying systems and it's not hard to explain why these six laying systems are a strong part of our personal laying portfolios.

The VFM lays graph (above) shows a profit of over 500 points in fourteen months. And in most cases, at this low price, it's quite common to beat SP.

Trainer Recent Form

Trainer Recent Form is a new feature which has been added to the ratings (at the moment within the summary and the detailed ratings).

This shows each trainer's results over the last 20 runs and the last fortnight and also the last four weeks. This is useful to see if a trainer is doing well lately or not. This information is also given on both web sites as an XML feed.

The display on the sites is not available just yet but will be presented soon with the next series of site updates.

Coming Shortly!

Have you ever dreamed of turning on your computer logging on to a program, and then going fishing, shopping or, worse, work knowing that you have your own professional betting assistant making your bets for you from your Betfair account? These would be the exact same betting selections that you have made from the Weak Favourites or UK Horse Racing systems you want to follow.

Well, soon you don't need to dream any more!

We are working to develop an automatic bet placement bot which will automatically import all of our system selections on a daily basis and allow you to press a few buttons and then make the exact bets in accordance with those of our systems you wish to follow. And you will have the power to set your own additional filters such as stakes, staking plans, odds range, type of race, type of track, number of runners, time before off to place, and much much more.

The bot will back, lay, place back or place lay, giving you control, freedom and betting power never before offered. The software will not interfere with your computer as it will sit in the background, logged directly into your Betfair account.

As you know we track and give daily selections for a number of systems derived from our UKHR ratings. If you could religiously follow a successful system (or a number of them), without deviation, hesitation or emotion, you would see your betting bank grow. But we realise that not everyone has the inclination or indeed the available time to do this. So this is just a huge opportunity to win and get your freedom back.

We cover UK and Irish racing, so even if you are in Australia you can login and go to sleep, wake up after letting the computer work for you during the night. It just doesn't get much better than that.

1. Our UKHR Bot is a program that you will receive.
2. You use it to login to your Betfair account.
3. It will automatically import all of our UKHR and WF systems selections each day.
4. You decide the systems you wish to follow.
5. You set the stake and any staking plan you want to apply to your bets.
6. You set any filters for odds, race, track, runners etc.
7. The Bot will not interfere with your computer.
8. Your computer will place automatic bets in your Betfair account.
9. All you need to do is bank the winnings and spend it.

We anticipate that demand for this product will be HUGE. Priority will be given to our current subscribers. Please note that the opportunity to subscribe to the UKHR Bot will only be given to subcribers of both UKHR and Weak Favourites (we are planning to merge the two services and websites shortly).

More information will be released in due course.

That's all for now for this newsletter. So, until the next time, see you in the short queue.
