Importing XMLIntroductionThis page explains how one can import our XML files into Excel manually. Note that one will require Excel XP, Excel 2003 or later. Excel 2000 will not work as that was released before XML was a dominant data standard. Importing Our XML FilesFirst stage, have the XML document displayed in a window (each selections page has an XML link) and select the URL. Right click on the selected text and then Copy the selection to the clipboard.
Next open Excel. Make sure that the version of Excel is XP or later. Click on the File Open button.
In the filename press Control-V (paste) to insert the URL of the XML document into the dialog box. Click on OK to start the document opening process...
Because in these enlightened times the URL reference to our site is just seen as another document on your network (after all, you are connected to the largest network on the planet) Excel will communicate automatically with our web server to get the XML file.
Just click OK; the default setting is what you require here...
And then the XML file is opened as a document in Excel. Simple, n'est pas?
