UK Race Stats
This reasonably priced service gives a detail breakdown of each horse in each British race and all of the statistics which one could hope for on a horse. To aid the reader of these statistics the horses are also rated; but this isn't necessarily where the strengths lie.

BHB Flat Racing Classification
From September 1st, 2004, the British Horseracing Board (BHB) changed the shape of flat racing with their new classifications. To say that this was a controversial move is an understatement; it was seen by many to be incomprehensible and with good reason. This document explains the new structure of flat racing in the United Kingdom.

Betfair Place Prices
There has recently been a couple of messages on the forum regarding place odds as a percentage of win odds on Betfair. For 8 months a robot was ran on Betfair collecting the prices one minute before the start of each race. What the results show is that the percentages decrease as the win price increases. For example, if the win price is between 1 and 2 then the place price will be, on average, 71%. A list of the percentages are laid out below. A point of interest is that the often quoted figure of 25% doesn't happen until the win odds are 17 or over.
